The Oakleigh Motel known affectionately as "The Oak", is an integral part of Australia's history as it was the first motel to open in Victoria and is "Heritage Listed" as worthy to be retained. It has recently been completely refurbished, bringing it into the 21st Century but retaining it's 1950's charm. Another historic milestone for "The Oak" was when it became the turn-around point for the Marathon in the 1956 Olympic Games! "The Oak" has been the site of many TV commercials .. the latest being for Toyota Tarago, as well as several movie shoots such as the film "Lucky Break". |
